Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 July 2026. Stormviews is a static, educational website. You can read everything here without an account, and we ask for no personal information just to browse.

Overview

Stormviews is a static informational site. There are no user accounts, no login, no shopping cart, and nothing for sale. You can read every guide and page without registering or handing over personal details. This policy explains, in plain language, the limited data that gets processed when you visit — most of it the ordinary technical byproduct of loading any web page — and what we do and don't do with it.

Because the site is static and sells nothing, we intentionally collect as little as possible. Where a typical privacy policy would name specific systems or vendors, we describe things in accurate general terms rather than invent details we don't have.

What we collect

We keep data collection minimal. In practice, the following may be processed when you visit:

Server and hosting logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider and content delivery network automatically record standard technical request data — for example your IP address, browser user-agent string, the page requested, and a timestamp. These logs are used for security (blocking abuse and attacks) and to understand aggregate traffic. They are a normal part of serving web pages and are not used to build a profile of you.

Aggregate analytics (if any)

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. Any such analytics is used only in aggregate, not to identify individuals, and does not involve cross-site tracking or advertising profiles. If we do not run analytics, then no analytics data is collected at all.

Email you send us

If you email us at hello@stormviews.net — for a question, a correction, or a privacy request — we receive whatever you choose to send: your email address, your message, and any details you include. We keep it only as long as needed to handle your message.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only, if any, to make the site function correctly. We do not set advertising cookies, and we do not run retargeting or behavioral-ad pixels. If aggregate analytics is enabled, it may set a single minimal cookie to distinguish repeat visits; that cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings if you prefer.

How we use it

What we do NOT do

Third parties

A few service providers necessarily process technical data on our behalf so the site can work — chiefly our hosting/CDN provider, and any analytics provider we may use. They handle data only to deliver those services, under their own terms and safeguards. We describe them generally here rather than name specific vendors, and we do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data-protection laws such as the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the California CCPA give you rights over personal data — for example the right to know what is held, to request a copy, to ask for correction or deletion, and to object to certain processing.

Because we don't operate accounts and collect so little, in most cases there is little or nothing tied to you as an individual. If you have emailed us, or want to ask what we may hold or request its deletion, contact hello@stormviews.net and we'll help. We do not sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email hello@stormviews.net and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this page from time to time as the site or our practices change. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here; there are no accounts to notify, so please check this page for the current version.
